Lines of Communication

Opening the Lines of Communication

There are various ways to communicate with the people in your organization. Use as many ways as possible.

Some examples:

  • Verbal - one-on-one meetings, staff meetings, group meetings, teleconferencing
  • Written - memos, reports, email, suggestion box, newsletters, brochures, employee surveys
  • Visual - posters, videos, DVDs, screensavers, websites
  • Personal - daily office walkabouts, informal chats and social events
  • Staff events - to celebrate successes and milestones

Informed employees have more power to do their jobs more efficiently. Giving your employees knowledge empowers them to use their time and energy productively, and avoid wasting it when trying to sort out miscommunications.
